Bio

In 2005 Rob Davis, Neil Gannon and Jay Duffy returned home from what seemed like a never ending tour criss-crossing the US from coast to coast and acquiring fans and friends (and quite possibly some enemies) along the way from Dennison University, Ohio, to Valentine’s in Albany, New York, to making records in Studio Litho in Seattle (the studio responsible for all of Pearl Jam’s catalogue) and bathing in the Pacific Ocean after a very late and sweaty show in San Diego, California. This touring stint lasted 3 years, and included an album recorded and produced by Barrett Martin (he of Screaming Trees, Mad Season and REM fame). The album also had Peter Buck, legendary guitarist of REM contribute his talents, along with a barnstorming performance onstage with the boys in Austin, Texas and before returning home to Dublin they also got in some sessions with legendary producer Jack Douglas. Sadly, the fourth member of their quartet decided to remain on US soil, and Rob, Neil and Jay decided to start afresh and in 2005 formed OrphanCode. OrphanCode immediately generated interest on the first demoes they recorded and quickly signed to a production label who paid for the recording of their first album which was produced by Ger Mcdonnell (U2, Manic Street Preachers, The Cure) and recorded in Chilli Studios Dublin in 2007. The record is finished and the first single ‘Last Dance’ was made available for download in March. The video quickly gained support from Channel 6 amongst others, and the song was added to the 2fm day-time playlist, due to initial exposure from dj’s Cormac Battle and Dan Hegarty. The band returned to the live circuit earlier this year, and they are an act not to be missed!
