Biography

Oscar Mancino says:
To me and my musicians the Neapolitan song is the magic mixture of every genre of music! From the heart to the soul all around the world removing all barriers including language and musical preferences. We have got together to play the music closest to our hearts and real passion knows no boundries..
CANTA NAPOLI... E NON MORIR!!!
WHAT BROUGHT THIS ABOUT : "The Voice of Naples"

An Italian 'Buena Vista Social Club' with the Neapolitan Song as its star: not neglected musicians but a neglected art form, stuck in the groove of O Sole Mio!

THIS IS THE STORY OF 3 NEAPOLITANS:

1. Oscar Mancino - A prize winning lyric artist, pianist and composer living between the UK, Switzerland and France.
2. Louis Siciliano - A composer of several award-winning film scores, musical director, record producer and sound engineer living and working in Naples and Rome.
3. Tonino Esposito - A most respected Jazz musician, accordion virtuoso and professor of music, and of comparative literature, at the New York University.

-All three were born and bred in Naples.
-All 3 were classically trained musicians
-All three had composed original Neapolitan songs

One day Louis Siciliano heard recordings of Oscar Mancino's voice, he picked up his guitar and drove all the way to Geneva, where he declared Oscar to be the new Caruso, the only Neapolitan left who could do justice to the Neapolitan song, and proceeded to sing two songs which he (LS) himself had composed many years earlier, but had felt too protective towards to entrust to anyone...
Louis Siciliano contacted his colleague, Tonino Esposito, in New York, to give him the good news of his discovery, whereupon Esposito also reveals his own hidden treasures waiting for a worthy interpreter!

The result:
The three artists teamed up with a most enthusiastic and dynamic band of classically trained virtuoso Neapolitan musicians to compose and record the music closest to their hearts in Naples.

MUSICA

QUANDO CERCO DI CAPIRE COSA SIAMO IN FONDO NOI
COSI PRESI DA UNA VITA CHE NON DÀ MAI QUEL CHE VUOI

QUANDO SONO PERSO
IN UN MONDO AVVERSO
APRO IL PIANOFORTE E UN MONDO NUOVO SI DISCHIUDE INTORNO A NOI

MUSICA
COME UN TORRENTE INONDI L'ANIMA
E INSIEME ATE IO VOLO LIBERO
IN SPAZI CHE NON HANNO FINE

COSI PASSONO LE ORE SENZA PIÙ PENSARE ORMAI
AI PROBLEMI DI ESISTENZA CHE NON MANCONO LO SAI

ARIA D'INFINITO SPIRA NEL MIO CUORE
E CON TE VICINO OGNI MOMENTO E UN ATTIMO D'ETERNITÀ

MUSICA
INTORNO A ME C'È SOLO MUSICA
ED ANCHE TU DIVENTI MUSICA
LA MUSICA CHE MI FA VIVERE

MUSICA…
MUSICA…

CHE MI FA VIVERE…

English translation:
MUSIC
When I try to understand who we are deep in our hearts, so preoccupied with a life that never gives you what you wish. When I feel lost in a hostile world, I open my piano , and a new world opens around us. Music, like a torrent you flood my soul, and along with you I fly free in space without end. Music, around me there is but music. You too become music, the music that makes me live.
