Osmosis definitely has the potential to be a successful rock band. As far as musicianship and vocals go, they are a damn good band. All the songs are well written and arranged. This is a group I would love to see live! On CD, they sound energetic and have captured the essence of great rock music.

After seeing that this band is getting some big requests, I went to their web site and first hit the song SHIMMER and I must say that I was very impressed with this song. It was a real nice Rock n Roll song. I think that this band will be a radio friendly band and this will be a song that I felt that a lot of young and old will want to listen to over and over. Then, I went down and checked out the song DISTANCE AND PRESENCE and again, I was so very impressed. After just hearing these two songs alone, I may just have to track down and get their self titled CD. I do see them as a summer band. What I mean by that is that I can listen to this band at the lake and on the road. I could go on and on about the other two songs STAND ALONE and LEAVES A SPACE, but I would like you to head down to their site and check them out for yourselves because you will not be disappointed. Almost 15 years ago the core of what is now Osmosis began perfecting their musical craft. Their comradery has created a special bond and love for music that has fueled the engine of Osmosis and continues to excel them into the forefront of modern rock.
Osmosis’ style is a wide blend of diverse musical backgrounds, upbringings and attitudes. Each member offers a distinctive perspective and history which combined, form a perfect gel that is evident in their vast musical efforts. Their music is a fine line of influences that meet in a unique space in time, and that time is now.
Osmosis’ talent and well-crafted songs caught the attention of Toronto Producer Rob Sanzo (Sum 41, Treble Charger, Danko Jones), leading to his engineering and producing of the bands first recorded effort in 2003. A 4-song EP was the beginning of the buzz for Osmosis. The bands first single “Shimmer” began to take off on college
radio and internet stations around the country. The
song quickly gained playlist and chart additions, as well as being featured on many large market stations even after several months of airplay. Meanwhile, Osmosis continued to support its success by playing countless shows in and around the Toronto area, which quickly established them as a great live act and caused a dedicated following to arise.
Currently, Osmosis is geared to release their debut album in September 2004 in conjunction with a film that is a documentary styled look at the world that the group has created. By utilizing the Film/DVD medium, the band has invited their fans into the journey of recording the album, playing live shows, band rehearsals and all the crazy antics in between. Osmosis looks forward to supporting their album and DVD release with a North American Tour and various festivals and showcases.
Osmosis has been compiling a team of associates (Management, Booking Agent, Entertainment Lawyer, Publicist, Radio Promoter, etc.), to secure distribution, record and licensing contracts. Osmosis will be presented at next year’s MIDEM Music Conference held in Cannes, France (January 2005) . At the same time, a 6 month plan with Radio promotion for the first album single is to be named shortly, across Canada.
