Bio

Born as a duo, Oso Leone soon developed into a solid five man band in their eager search for a true rich sound of their own. Xavi Marin and Paco Colombàs met while studying away from their home town, Palma, in an improvised jam session at an underground art gallery in Barcelona. In a matter of months they had already formed their first band Blue Velvet, but their need for more and solider means of expression lead them to join up, first with Jaime Roselló, their producer and keyboard, and later with Alomar Eusebio and Jonathan Mills. Thus Oso Leone was born.

Their first album, Oso Leone, gained instant recognition throughout the Baleares and beyond. By the end of the summer of 2011 tracks like “Fire”, “Bornicula” or “Falcó” had already turned into the soundtrack of many a starry summer night. From the magical forests of the Mallorcan mountains and the raw pebbles of deserted beaches, Oso Leone quickly stood up and claimed their place in the flourishing Spanish alternative scene. Their first official concert, at the Mallorcan “Es Baluard” Contemporary Art Museum, filled the five hundred seat main hall and left half as many again at the door. Soon after they would take Barcelona by storm filling one of the cities most famous venues "Apollo” and establishing themselves as one of the most exciting new bands around. Their first album has been shortlisted as one of the country's best alternative albums of 2011 by many prestigious music blogs. At present they are about to embark on a Spanish tour where they'll be presenting an enriched version of their first album and a taste of their upcoming work . The coming months will most definitely be a defining point in the careers of these young artists... their time has come.
