Bio

Other Moons are professional musicians aged 23-30 living in Guelph, Ontario. Brought together by their passion for music they have carved a niche for themselves in the Guelph scene. Other Moons' music is a blend of pop, soul, rock and dance, all lightly painted with a psychedelic brush.

Other Moons members are Aisha Barrow (vocals), Emmanuel MacCaull (drums), Garret Howard (bass, guitar), Nick (guitar, bass) and Jesse Ronan (guitar, keys). The band has begun performing in the GTA throughout the past year. With each gig resulting in more earnings/prime time slots, the band has experienced a momentum that reflects the authenticity of their creation.

Having released their first EP on April 20th 2016, the band has been creating new songs for their next album. Other Moons rehearses twice weekly in the home rehearsal space of Jesse and Nick, affectionately referred to as ‘The Castle’.

Aisha was born in Riyahd, Saudi Arabia. At the age of 3 her family moved to Kotu, Gambia where she was raised. In 2001 her family relocated to Canada. Aisha often credits her older sister Lama's taste in eclectic music for piquing her interest. In 2010 Aisha began to write songs of her own, and chose to pursue music as a career - she has recently completed her first year of the Mohawk Applied Music program. In 2014 Aisha was contacted by Jesse to audition for an un-named project. When Aisha auditioned she was welcomed into the group immediately. Although the group has a wide range of musical tastes, she felt they worked exceptionally well together. Aisha dreams of creating a successful career for herself in music.

Garret Howard

Garret was born in Milton Ontario. His interest in music began in highschool where he took guitar classes offered by the school. In 2007 Garret fomed a band called District that performed in various venues including the Horseshoe Tavern and El Mocambo.  In 2013, Garret began jamming with a group that included Jesse, Nick and Emmanuel. Although they did not have a name or vocalist, they began crafting the music that would eventually become known as Other Moons. Garrets hobbies include playing videogames, jamming, live music and hunting. His life long dream is to live comfortably as a musician.

After college Jesse met Alex Frank and Jarred McCall and was convinced to move to Guelph to form The Retrievers. In 2013 the band released their first album, Regeneration. Jesse also released his first solo album titled Planetary Grid Systems. After Regeneration Jesse parted ways from the Retrievers and released his second album, The Life and Times of Chicory Gibbs. In 2013 Jesse arranged a jam with Nick, Garret an Emmanuel. Jesse contacted Aisha and asked her to audition for Other Moons as a singer. The group found perfect harmony with Aisha and Other Moons has been on an unstoppable path since! Jesse's hobbies are playing music, cycling and walking his cats on leashes. His life long dream is also to live comfortably as a musician.
