Among the performers will be Otherwoods, which took top honors in the recent Miller Lite's Great Music Series Battle of the Bands assisted by WEND 106.5 Radio in Charlotte. These melodic rockers emerged victorious through three preliminary competitions, followed by the finals.

A gig opening for a national recording act at Speed Street was the award for this five-man band. Bio

The core group that would become Otherwoods began collaborating in earnest in the summer of 2005, writing and creating high energy, diverse music. The band went on to record their first project in the spring/summer of 2006, a 7-song EP called "Can't See the Chorus For the Trees". They have recently released a new five song EP featuring "Will You Be My Hero" and "Colors of the Rainbow". Otherwoods won the Miller Lite Great Taste series against 40 other bands to play at the 600 Festival in Charlotte, NC, opening for Life House. Featured regularly on Comboland Radio, Audiofly, Bunk Radio and on 106.5 The End's "90 Minutes" (Local Music with Divakar) Otherwoods is comfortable performing both indoors and out! Originally playing to street audiences, the band credits its influences to U2, Bruce Springsteen, Cold Play, Led Zeppelin, Dave Matthews, The Beatles, Santana and Jet just to name a few.
