"Mid-Point Music Fest"

HARRY'S UPSTAIRS 9p.m.
Otis
What hath Tenacious D wrought? Killer bass gives an ass-shackin' groove to such unlikely titltes as "Nightmare of the Yeti." One really has to experience a lyric like "In through the closet and out just as quick/He's sleek, dark, utterly slick/He's the Weasel of Woetown!" to really appreciate it.
Dig It: Tenacious D on a funk trip, Stanley Clarke doing stand-up. (DJ)

"Erie's Third Annual Battle of the Bands"

Bissell said six weeks of judging have shown him Erie's originl scene is ontrack. He was impressed by all sorts of different groups, including percussion based OTIS, and Jamestown's EVERYTHING ENDS,among others.
"The Erie music scene seems on the rebound again." Bissell sid. "For awhile, it seemed like i had stayed the same and not really grown. We saw a lot of youth, too, which is wonderfull." - Erie Daily Times News

"Erie's Battle of the Bands, Week Six Preview"

No dramatic changes unfolded last week(week 5). All three top spots were held by th previous week leaders. Won't be easy for them to stay there however, SUPER No.7, which finished in second the first two battle, will play at 10 o'clock. OTIS and BLACK ROSE DAIRY, which has a loud and devoted following, will also perform. - Erie Daily Times News

"Battle of the Bands Review, Week Six"

OTIS surprised some people. A two-piece band, bass and drums and sound like PIMUS. Excellent musicianship, very tight and over the crowd with a quircky-rock/funk set. - Go Erie .com John Johnston

"Locals Live"

OTIS, who turned heads with their inventive, Primus-like set during the Batte of the Bands, will perform tonight with other local acts LIQUID NIXON, and KENNY AND HIS BACKPACK. - Erie Daily Times News

Bio

We've been playing together since 1996. Since then we've recorded 2 CDs, including the former band, Linus, and this new EP, under the name, Otis. Linus was a trio, with the 3rd spot being filled by various musicians. Influences include, but are not limited to: Stanley Clarke, Primus, Freekbass, Rush, King's X, Dream Theater, Black Sabbath, and Rage Against the Machine.
What sets us apart from other bands is the fact that we are the area's only funkabilly duo with the most original sound in the area. Humurous lyrical content and a warped view of the world translate into a very "in your face" attitude, both musically and on stage
