Biography

Otto’s Jacket is a four piece rock & roll band reigning from Saratoga Springs, New York. Many people have tried to describe their music as a mix between The Band, The Rolling Stones and Wilco only to decide that they have a sound that is truely unique.

Formed by Marc Hartman and Mike Blair in the winter of 2006, Otto’s Jacket released their debut feature length album "About You" in the summer of 2007. On a twenty date tour from Manhattan to Saranac Lake, NY promoting "About You" the band won over fans and critics alike. "The shows are raw and emotional, that's why people are drawn to them. Otto's Jacket makes it sultry with "About You". Juxtaposition of egos, revenge, hurt and sorrow. Then the final realization that the future is open despite the present yearning for something that is unavailable."
-Mark Holman, Songwriter/Music Writer

Along with sharing the lead vocal duties Hartman thrashes out distorted guitar chords and choppy rhythm patterns that compliment the simplistic complexity that Otto's Jacket is known for. Blair's vocals range from deep baritones to McCartney-esque falsettos as his bass guitar drives the rest of the band through a roller coaster of emotions. With Jamie Munyon on keyboard/guitar and Joshua Corrigan supplying the back beat Otto's Jacket is sure to wow everytime.

Otto's Jacket live shows include over 40 original songs as well as 20 covers from some of the best bands of the past and present. Songs by David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles, The Band, The Kaiser Chiefs, Kings Of Leon, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones to name a few have all been covered by Otto's Jacket.

Otto's Jacket has spent the last year redefining their sound and preparing for the release of their new EP, Everything's My Fault , and a brand new single Vampires! (Getting Old). With music available on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, etc. The Jacket (as fans affectionately call the band) has experienced some national and international success. With fresh material and frequent local radio airplay, Otto’s Jacket is ready take the music scene by storm.

Lyrics

Everything's My Fault

Written By: Hartman/Blair

Watch she'll steal your pocketbook and take your telephone right off the hook
Welcome to my city, there's nothing you can pity, there's nothing to lose
Some say it's androgenous living like a communist I got nothing to do
So I go insane, and it's all the same, it's all the same

How can things get even better, when we are still together
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault

I hate careers, credit cards, hollywood and movie stars, L.A.'s a city of shame
There's no one here to blame, so no one takes the blame, and the puzzle remains
Karma Sutra Buddha head kill yourself and then you're dead living was so much fun
But I don't own a gun, I wish I owned a gun, the damage is done

How can things get even better when we are still together
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault

Everything, everything's my fault, my fault, my fault

How can thing's get even better when we are still together
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault
Everything's my fault

Vampires! (Getting Old)

Written By: Hartman/Blair

Watch out for the vampires baby, they've been living in our amplifiers lately, yeah they're crazy, they used to help the band play on
And I've been watching all the records spinning, as the D.J. plays my greatest hits, then he quits, so they pulled the vampires out

She, just wants somebody there, to hold
And I, I never mentioned she was, getting old

Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, old

I'm still waiting on the vampires baby, the band won't play unless they're here, or for beer, show their bloody teeth and then they're gone

She, just wants somebody there, to hold
And I, I never mentioned she was, getting old

Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, old

And she loves the middle eight, but I really don't believe her
Well I guess I'll have to, I am waiting oh I'm waiting

And she hasn't taken her eyes off him, she's staring at the way he flips the disc, blood finger tips, undying love that sleeps at dawn

She, finally found somebody there, to hold
She, never told no one that I'm, getting old

Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, old, I'm getting
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, old
