Ottrina Bond

With the recent release of "World On Fire," the first single off her upcoming EP now available on iTunes, and a smash video for the song completed, Ottrina is already set to fulfill what appears to be prophetic words of the title track as she 'sets the World On Fire' with noted comparable vocal nuances of singers that have influenced her like Whitney, Celine, Mariah, and Patti Labelle. While Ottrina delivers soul-stirring vamps as heard in "World On Fire," a soulful, R&B love ballad, the singer is quick to warn listeners that even with the epic nature of ballad's refrain, this sound is just one facet of her style. "I consider myself a 'genre-blender' that positions me as a Pop singer, with my voice and conviction being that 'fiery' thread element that makes it an 'Ottrina' song." The fact that the singer/songwriter takes such a hands-on role in the production of her music also lends itself to establishing this as Ottrina guides the arrangement of each song from the start of preproduction to post-production to ensure that the message she aims to send to her listeners is delivered.

Music was the inevitable path for Ottrina Bond growing up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Having a private detective for a grandfather who also served as head of security for local radio station WDAS, played a major role in the musical influences that color the background of the singer/songwriter. Having cousins as members of the 1970's R&B group 'The Stylistics', and an aspiring singer as next door neighbor also didn't hurt. It was this neighbor that helped coach the singer to her first solo stage performance at the age of 6. "While my friends were outside playing, I was inside practicing breath control and how to hold a mic."

Now proudly residing in Miami, Ottrina has shared the stage with local artists and bands at festivals and events throughout Miami and West Palm Beach, performing at the Van Dyke Miami Beach and even the nation's premier motorcycle AMA Pro Racing event at the Miami-Homestead Speedway.

Ottrina is currently promoting the upcoming release of her EP album, "Ottrina Bond-The EP" due late summer/early fall 2012.
