Feeling a bit camera shy

OU is 'egg'
in Sardu (Sardinian).

It is pronounced at the bottom of one's voice with a long 'O' and a little
upturn of 'u' at the end.

It makes music.

OU is a sextet based in Rome, Italy; the three women are Sardinian, the three
men pure Romans, and together they take you on a Mediterranean joyride of
vivacious original compositions with a folk sensibility, jazz with fiercely
funky rhythms, topped with gorgeously lush vocals, sung in Sardinian, Italian,
Spanish, Portuguese and English.

Composer/trumpetist/ukelelist/vocalist Ersilia Prosperi brought
together her musical colleagues and founded OU in Rome in 2012.  The band includes Martina Fadda (voice); Sabrina Coda (alto & soprano sax, voice); Luca Venitucci (1st album - piano,
Hammond B3 organ, Fender Rhodes, voice) or Andrea Pesce (2nd album and 2 US tours - piano, Hammond B3 organ, Fender Rhodes, voice) ; Claudio Mosconi (electric bass,
voice), and Cristiano De Fabritiis (drums, vibraphone, glockenspiel, voice).

Produced by American multi-instrumentalist and composer Amy Denio, their first full-length, 'Pisces Crisis' (Spoot Music, ASCAP), was released in February 2014 and has been getting significant airplay in
Europe and the Americas.  OU ~ Pisces Crisis was recorded and
mixed in Seattle in October, 2013 at the famed Litho Studios (Pearl Jam's
studio) with seasoned engineer Floyd Reitsma; Chris Hanszek mastered the
project with Amy.  OU's second album, OU: Scrambled, also produced by Denio and recorded with Reitsma at Litho, is slated to be released in May of 2015.

OU are playing festivals worldwide, melding folk, rock and jazz, busting genres
and blurring boundaries.

Amy Denio - Producer/Collaborator

Multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, band leader and
consummate improviser Amy Denio has been a vital force in music in the Pacific
Northwest for over two decades.
Anchored with two internationally-touring arrangements – the
world-renown sax quartet The

the Balkan Gypsy punk rock sensation Kultur
– Denio also produces music and performance art, operates
her own independent record label – Spoot
– and plays with several unique arrangement, including Ama
Trio and most recently OU.  She is
overjoyed to continue to work with OU, and treasures the opportunity to
collaborate and perform with the band this summer and fall.
