Hailing from Bremerton and Olympia, Washington, ODP has numerous influences ranging from The Smashing Pumpkins to the The Cars. ODP originally started as the band "Ionic" in 2003, but once they had established the sound they were looking for they changed the name to "Our Desired Phobia" in 2004.
What started out as a fun project jamming in parents garages quickly bloomed into a full-time love affair with music. The skill, creativity, and songwriting of the band developed very quickly, and a unique and original sound soon emerged. ODP began booking gigs and started to build a fiercely loyal fanbase in Bremerton, Olympia, and Seattle. Local bar and record store owners took note and offered their support for the fledgling band. A graphic design artist was hired to design logos and make flyers for shows. This step helped professionalize the band and cement their image.
With many comparisions to early 80's bands, ODP's sound reminds people of the past, but prepares them for the future of rock. The band's main strengths include: songwriting, unique vocals, and the balance between bandmembers. While Ben is the frontman, no single person is the star of the band, and no song is complete without everybody's contribution. ODP has a strong bond off the stage, which comes across during their live performances.
With tireless promoting and constant gigging, ODP has quickly built an extensive network of diverse fans that will help propel the band into the future.
