We'll admit, we really don't know much about the steampunkish Antiquinox Masquerade Ball. But listening to a few raw cuts from the band Vigilante Blue, which is playing the show, it's hard not to be struck by lead singer Anna Sullivan Hill's voice on the song “Villain” and her Shirley Manson-esque sultryness and bite.
Likewise, synthpop musicians Platform One have a delicious New Order sort of sound which, especially on “Confessions of The Sorrowtree,” is reminiscent of the European dance music of the '80s. All told, it's an intriguing mix of elements that makes this evening sound like a lot of fun. The Antiquinox Masquerade Ball, hosted by the 11th Hour Farming Artists, will be held at 8 p.m. March 23 at The Citizen, 120 Commercial St., Worcester. The event will feature music by Vigilante Blue, Arcade Kid, Platform One and deejay Mizz Kitsune, with art by local artists, including Bret M. Herholz. $25. (Victor D. Infante) - telegram.com

Bio
Previously known as Vigilante Blue, we are performing under a new name at the suggestion of our friends in the Vigilantes Motorcycle Club. Now known as "Our Former Selves," we have been playing together since the summer of 2012, though each of us have individually been involved in music for much longer.
