Our Neighbor Barry

Our Neighbor Barry

Our Neighbor Barry’s sound draws equally from classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead), classic funk (The Meters, Curtis Mayfield), progressive jam (Phish, Umphrey’s McGee), 80’s Pop (Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel), singer/songwriter (Jack Johnson, Ryan Adams), and indie rock (Death Cab, MMJ)

Our Neighbor Barry (ONB) - a Los Angeles-based rock/funk/jam band - formed in early 2007, but has roots going back to 1995 - the year that Jeff Skaggs and Dan Diebes (who both supply guitars, keyboards, and vocals to the project) met as college freshmen at SMU in Dallas, TX. Over the years, these two have played in various projects and have forged a musical partnership and conversation that planted the seeds of what is now Our Neighbor Barry. Andy Jaspan (drums) and John Reese (bass) complete the quartet and drive a tight rhythm section that is equally comfortable churning out melodic hard rock, dirty funk, roots reggae, or spacey jams, but always keeps an ear towards accessible music that puts out a good-time vibe!
