Bio

Started as an excuse for two friends to jam material otherwise unsuitable for the band they were in, Our Smallest Adventures soon became a fully-fledged musical concern for Beep! Beep! Ping! members Martyn Rollo and Sandy Power.

After Sandy leaving the band , friends Robin McKinven and William Howie filled the vacancy and a string of gigs around Scotland ensued.

The band then lay dormant as Robin and William moved to Glasgow but was reinitiated as Martyn found another creative muse in another friend Scott Baxter in 2010. Robin then again joined the band for a short while.

At this point, the band enlisted the help of Glasgow born, Brighton based musician Oliver Melville, who remixed a pair of tracks and really brought out the best in them.

Once Robin had left for the second time, the band began to take shape as it is now known with former ‘A Day Overdue’ drummer Stephen Mckie joined, Sandy rejoined the band on cello and Mathew Webster became the bands long-term bass guitarist.

The band also played with third guitarist James Kelleher for a number of months, in which they recorded their debut EP ‘Our Smallest Adventures’. The EP is now available as a free download on Bandcamp.

Further augmenting their line-up with violinist Ena Paul and with Matthew Kent replacing Scott Baxter as second guitarist, the band are now working towards recording newer material.

In October 2015, the band entered Bloo Coo Studios with producer Shaun Evans to record some new tracks towards what would become their new EP. The finished product, The Quiet Terror of Being Alive, was mixed and mastered by renowned engineer, Bruce Rintoul, who has worked with some of Scotland's best and brightest, up and coming bands. The EP provides a true reflection of the band's sound to this date.

'The Quiet Terror of Being Alive’, is a collection of music that shows the bands versatility as composers. From the epic opener of ‘What Gives You That Idea’, to the distorted frenzy of ‘Now I Have a Machine Gun, Ho Ho Ho’ ,to the serene but exciting ‘Fists with Your Toes’, this is post-rock that will please a wide spectrum of listeners.
