Bio

Oussama Belhcen (born on March 18, 1991 in the
United States Naval Communications Station Sidi Yahya El Gharb, Morocco)
is a Moroccan pop singer, songwriter and producer from Morocco, he
started his career in 2015.

1991–2015: Early life

As a kid growing up on an U.S. Naval Communications Station, Oussama
Belhcen attracted to the American culture and he used to listen to the
American music, and he had an addiction to sing songs and only melodies
in front of his family.

When he completed 9 years old, and after his father finished his
thirteen air military service with the Moroccan Air Force, the whole
family moved from The United States Naval Communications Station of Sidi
Yahya El Gharb to Larache the small city in the Atlantic Ocean, where
he will be taking off his musical career.

At the age of 15, he had that chance to make his first song but it
was a Rap song with a group called “MafiaFlow” contained him and four of
his friends at the secondary school. They worked on one album, then
they separated.

After one year of separation of the rap group, MafiaFlow, Belhcen
made his first R&B song “Nhar Ela Nhar” (Day on Day), which was the
debut single from his debut solo album Ana Wnti in 2008. In October 10,
2010, he released his self-titled album Oussama Belhcen.

Early in 2010, while working on his second album, Belhcen started on
his third album, Dayman, which was released in 2012. The album included
the tracks, “Mehtaj Lik”, “Khallini Nebghik, “Rock Your Body”, and
“Fjenbi.

In 2013, he released a final single titled “Meghribiya” featuring the
rapper Aklo on April, then for few months he decided to make a stop for
his musical career, for some unknown personal reasons.

Moroccans refer to Belhcen’s style of R&B music as “Gharbi” (The
occidental music). He is one of the few R&B and pop singers in
Morocco.

2015–present: Career beginning

After he abandoned his musical career for nearly two years, earlier
in 2015, Oussama revealed on his Facebook page that he will come back to
the music industry, and in a talk to a local press “Larache24” he said
that his upcoming single will be titled “Kolshi Bin Yeddi” and he also
said that he will return to the music industry. On May 25, 2015 he
released his single “Kolshi Bin Yeddi” then the second single “Nehar Lik
Wenhar Alik” on November 27, 2015, and currently he’s working on his
third single “Elmostahil Makainsh Febali” that will be released on March
1st.

Musical style

Belhcen is mostly known by his unique Moroccan pop style, he’s adding
on his own songs the occidental music style avoiding the oriental style
like Sharki or Khaliji that the other Moroccan singer are heavy
influenced by.

As he’s written his own songs in Darija (the Moroccan accent) he’s
making his songs in the American English, some of his oldest English
songs are Whatcha Gonna Do, Never Stop This Love, Rock Your Body and
Can’t Let You Go.

On his personal Twitter, Oussama twitted that he wants to make
something new and unusual in Africa and in his native country Morocco,
and that he wants to sing many genders of music, in different languages
to show the world his talents, and he’s dreaming to leave an impress in
the whole world like what Usher, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Michael Jacksson,
T-Pain, Akon and others did.

Production and writing songs

Oussama co-written many songs by rappers and singers coming from his
current city Larache like Ibrahim B., Grizzy, G-Boi, Yassin El Atifi and
others and he had produced the most of his songs with the producer Fahd
Lil and currently with Mr M.
