Out From Under

 Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, CAN
BandAlternativeRock

Pat Deighan & The Orb Weavers are a 4 piece band from Charlottetown PEI with a sound that blends rock, indie and alt country tunes into some of the best ragged ass, bar-brawl and hangover rock and roll anywhere.

Biography

What do you want to know? It's all right there at Prince Edward Island's most prestigious beer joints. Out From Under holds no secrets. Work is harrowing, love is work. The old ways of doing it for yourself are gone. Fishing and farming have been replaced by the options of becoming a civil servent or serving civil servents. Now how the fuck is a fella supposed to feel free? It's hard to get it all out as it's all coming in so fast. It leaves an awful mess by the weeks end that needs a movin'. You've got to stomp, yell, sing, dance, pound sticks, suck n' blow, and play too many guitars way too loud. Sometimes yelling into a cheap PA all the things that you dare not whisper is all the medicine you need. OFU knows this, and it is FUN!

Optimistic Time

Written By: Jeff Stewart

Optimistic Time

You slipped out of the picture
With your image distressed
Your colour was confused
Collapsed by the weight of a liar and his lies

I double drove across the country
More forward than back
With my head in a sack
I can’t turn away if I can’t see where I’m going

Don’t stick your neck out to host me
My roots have gone wrong
Before and again
Gotta dig in and find that spirit again

If it all turned out how you’d planned it
We’d catch worms on the dew
And fry fish every night
But for the fish and the worms
It just wouldn’t be right

We are in an optimistic time
No one gets by your watchful eye
No one gets above your constant love
We are in an optimistic time

No one gets around your philosophy so sound
You passed it to me
I bent my knee
But there’s no weight to take from your peaceful state

Your selfless to the point that you don’t understand
You’ve taken a stance
With your feet above the ground
No time to question life’s sweet advance

We are in an optimistic time
No one gets by your watchful eye
No one gets above your constant love
We are in an optimistic time

Cut and Dried

Written By: Jeff Stewart

Cut and Dried

I jumped into the water where the sharks are bold
But I’ve got fish hooks for finger tips
I’m Freddy Kruger of the deep
I’ll tear them fuckers from fin to fin
If they come anywhere near me
The dolphins taught me how to swim
In exchange I taught ‘em how to breathe the air
I gave ‘em warning, don’t be like us comrades
You’ve got less cares under there

You’ll find yourself on the beach with that glint in your eye
Someone’ll come along less benevolent than I
Cover you with alcohol infested blankets to die
The papers will cry that they really did try
To assimilate, but it was too late
They’ll make a zoo out of you
And put you in a tank with someone you hate as your mate
Yeah, they’ll put you in a tank with someone you hate as your mate

I’ve got a lot to say but not today
I’ve got a lot to say

We’re not exactly pushing any boundaries here
We’re just as far apart as we were last year
You must have thought I was some great novelty
That’s the only way you’d ever visit me
Well dear you’re waiting for your path to clear
Let me hold this one branch back for you
In the olive garden you’re running through
Down to the beach as you swim out of reach
Your biathlon’s gonna take you away
Your biathlon’s gonna take you away from me

I’ve got a lot to say but not today
Who’ll be the first to call it quits
I’ve got a lot to say but not today

I love it when I can’t see it comin’
I hate it when I can’t see it go
I wish it would sit still
If I don’t expect it to it will
I guess that rules out wishing
You were so true when it suited you
And your suit looked good on me
But I’d grown so violently tall I had to take out the sleeves
But all that leaves are my hands and I’m wavin’ good-bye
My fingertips have a memory
And imagination, every time I touch another they feel your skin
But it’s never the same
I’d rather be swimming away with you
Than lying on the beach in the sun cut and dried
And I’m lying on the beach in the sun cut and dried

I’ve got a lot to say but not today
Who’ll be the first to call it quits
Well I’ve got a lot to say but not today
Who’ll be the first to say it’s been fun, but this ain’t it

Either Way

Written By: Jeff Cameron

Either Way—J.Cameron

Let’s all go around back
And raise our hands way up in the air
We’ll give thanks for what we’ve been given
And we’ll all share the same blame.

Either way, either way.

We’re all dug in, we’re all for shame.
We all sleep in the very beds we make
We all lay down as strangers
We all wake up with friends.

Either way, either way.

I miss the way your voice used to crack
When you would scream from way down back
You always said that I could do anything
What a wonderful thing to say

Either way, Lord. Either way

You could find some comfort with just a little white pill
You know you shouldn’t, you know you probably will
But even baby steps—well they can lead you home
Either we sleep with angels, or we sleep alone
Either we sleep with angels, or we sleep alone
Either we sleep with angels, or we sleep alone

Either way, either way.

Let’s all go around back
And raise our hands way up in the air
And we’ll give thanks for what we’ve been takin’
And we’ll all share in the same blame.

Either way, either way.
