Out In The A.M.

Out in the A.M. began as three friends working at summer camp in 2008 who found a common ground in writing and performing music. The band consists of Nick JD Cunningham, a long time individual acoustic guitar performer, Russ Piva, who has performed and recorded music with a variety of bands, and Yossi Niznik, a professional dance instructor who has great experience in the performing arts.
Coming from very different artistic backgrounds, the trio aims to compose a distinctive style of rock that streams influences from a diverse assortment of bands such as Spoon, Tool, King Crimson, Dr. Dog, and the finest of motown artists including Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder.
In the fall of 2008, the band recorded 6 tracks which now stand as the basis of their demo (which can be accessed today at www.myspace.com/outntheam). During 2009, vocalist Nick JD journeyed to Asia teaching English for the year, putting the band on hold temporarily. In 2010, the band hit the ground running, playing a number of shows immediately upon Nick’s return. Today, the band is enjoying much success in writing music and gigging across Southern Ontario.
