Bio
Outlaws & Preachers is a blues-rock, soul, and hip-hop outfit from San Francisco, California.
The mastermind creation of hip-hop maestro Mario Cobar and guitarist/singer James Marshall, the group was founded during a recording session in Marshall’s closet in the Summer of 2010 somewhere deep inside San Francisco’s Tenderloin District.
The pair of friends created what would become Outlaws & Preacher’s first EP.
Outlaws & Preachers has since become a five-piece force gaining notoriety for their memorable raw and intimate live performances with the additions of bassist Chris Locs, guitarist Jaemi Fortier in Fall of 2010, and drummer Elliott Alexander in the Spring of 2011.
The group has torn through venues throughout the Bay Area’s premiere city including the Milk Bar (Haight Street), Grant & Green Saloon (North Beach), and the Richmond District’s Rockit Room.
The band's typical draw has been between 50-120 people per show depending on the night and have been highly regarded by bookers all over the city such as Dan Strachota from the Rickshaw Stop, Travis Hayes from Thee Parkside and even David lefkowitz the booker of The Warfield and The Regency Ballroom who were all very interested in the band's sound.
For a band with a short history, the near future looks to hold great potential as this group incorporates themselves into the fibers of the greater San Francisco Bay Area’s music scene.
