Outlaw X

BandBluesCountry

Robert Cray meets the Rolling Stones... That's the way the members of the band "Outlaw X" describe their music! The band seamlessly fuses the elements of blues, country and rock music into a sure fire crowd pleasing mixture for your next concert event!

Biography

On a cold winters day in 1976 a sixteen year old boy walked reluctantly into the A.R. Leak Funeral Home on Chicago’s South Side at the urging of his High School Band Director. The boy was sent there to pay his respects to one Chester A. Burnett, AKA “Howling Wolf”. Well “The Wolf’s” musical spirit must have somehow touched that boy, because today that young man is a world-renowned musician, vocalist and the musical director for “Maze featuring Frankie Beverly”. His name is Larry Kimpel and the band that he helped to create is “Outlaw X”.

Founded in the summer of 2005, “Outlaw X” is an elixir of Blues, Southern Rock and Traditional Country mixed together to create a sound the guys call “Power Blues”. The resulting mix is one of the most infectious and genuine on the Roots Music Circuit today. In fact, if their music was to be made into a Hollywood Movie the perfect title for the film would be “Robert Cray meets The Allman Brothers!”

The Band’s Line-up consists of:
Larry Kimpel / Chicago, Illinois - Bass and Lead Vocals, Herman Matthews / Houston, Texas - Drums Bill Steinway / Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Keyboards, Piano, Organ,
& Ricky “Z” Zahariades / Fontana, California - Guitars, Vocals

After years of helping artists like Tom Jones, Luis Miguel, Natalie Cole and Anita Baker sound the way they do to their audiences, it was simply time for the “Outlaw X” Sound to emerge. It’s a sound that flows deep from within the heart of the band and it infects each listener with a good sized dose of good old fashioned groovin’ happiness!

As to their live concert philosophy Lead Vocalist Larry Kimpel says “After playing with so many major artists and watching them work and entertain, we wanted to bring that same type of entertainment value to the Roots Music Genre.” “Simply put, we have fun on stage!” “We don’t take ourselves too seriously, and yet we bring first-class musicianship to the table every single night!” “The fans deserve only the best, and we feel that we bring that kind of a quality product to them!” With their debut CD “Out of the Box” ready to rise to the top of the charts, the music industry and fans alike are about to be treated to something truly special. But be careful, cause’ once the sound of “Outlaw X” gets a hold of you… They’ll never let you go!

Backyard

Written By: L. Kimpel

Well the first thing you need
Is the last thing you find
I've been lookin' round' for love
And it's been here all the time
Here in my backyard baby
Right here in my backyard
You gotta cut down the weeds
So you can see what's in your own backyard

I was walkin' down the street
Like I do most everyday
But this time is was different girl
Cause my eyes they looked your way

Here in my backyard baby
Right here in my backyard
You gotta cut down the weeds
So you can see what’s in your own backyard

Guitar Solo

There's been lot's of other girls
But their love is wasn't true
Cause not a single one of them
Got my heart the way you do
Here in my backyard baby
Right here in my backyard
You gotta cut down the weeds
So you can see what's in your own backyard

No Love

Written By: L. Kimpel

Got me a mansion but no love
Got a big fine car but no love
Got plenty money but no love
What kind of life is it with no love?
(Repeat)

I had me a lady once she was so fair
But I walked on her heart now she's not there
Got plenty money...but no love
What kind of life is it with no love?

(Guitar Solo)

Red lights and Green lights go round in my head
Afraid to stop waiting
Too scared to move ahead
I can't stop this emptiness inside
I need a lover to come and satisfy...satisfy...satisfy
I need you, I want you,
I want you baby

Got plenty money...but no love
What kind of life is it?
What kind of life is it?
What kind of life is it?
What kind of life is it?
What kind of life is it?
What kind of life is it?
With no love?
No love?
No love?
No love?
What kind of life is it...With no love? No love?

Everybody needs it
Everybody needs some love
Everybody needs it
Everybody needs some good good lovin'
(Vamp til' fade)

Waters of Love

Written By: L. Kimpel

I'm just a poor boy
With nothing to lose
No social status
No point of view
With all of my subtraction
How could I think?
That you could ever love me
That you would ever drink

Drink from the waters of loveT
hat flow from my heart
Drink from a well that,s so deep
You'll never dry it up
I will wait all my life for you
In the waters of love

Deep in the waters of love is my Heart
Deep in the waters of love

Someday you'll find me
And you'll realize
That I am forever
There's no disguise
The minutes are wasted
The years they pass by
I don't care how long it takes
I want you be

And drink from the waters of love
That flow from my heart
Drink from a well that's so deep
You'll never never dry it up
I will wait all my life for you...

Deep in the waters of love is my Heart
Deep in the waters of love
(Vamp)

Old Fashioned Girl

Written By: L. Kimpel, B. Steinway, R. Zahariades

Working Nine to Five
Sweatin' all the time
Stayin' up from sun to sun
The only thing I'm knowing is that you keep me going
Your love is just the fuel I want
I don't need no beauty queen
Cause they can't give me the things that I need

I need an Old Fashioned Girl
An Old Fashioned Girl

Old Fashioned Girl came along and changed my world
Now I don't do nothin' but smile
She's the one that makes it
I could never fake it
I want her for the rest of my life
I was alone till you came along
Old Fashioned Girl you got me singing this song

Old fashioned girl
I need an Old Fashioned Girl
Old Fashioned Girl
I need an Old Fashioned Girl

I Cry

Written By: L. Kimpel

Rain outside my window
Tumbling down the glass
Helps me hide the sorrow
Of losing you at last

There is no escaping
The image of your face
Because everything reminds me
Of the beauty that’s erased

Every time I think about the fool I was…
I cry…I cry
Every time I think about the fool I was…
I cry…I cry

You were all I dreamed of
The sun that lights my day
My world with you revolving
Without you a lifeless lump of clay

I can’t go on in this maze
But I know that I’m the one to blame
You see, I’m the man who had a precious treasure
and in an instant, I threw it all away

Every time I think about the fool I was…
I cry… I cry
Every time I think about the fool I was…
I cry… I cry
