Bio

Out of Options (OoO) started as a dream. The dream came true in April 2010 when vocalist Redge (ex. Calypso, TG4Mondays) found guitarist Oli (ex. Dead Wait) thru an add from the OM. King (ex. Sobre Brume, TG4Mondays) was already on board with Redge as the bassist. Long time friend and ex-colleague of Oli, Ren (ex. Dead Wait) was the perfect fit as the drummer to finalize OoO’s line up. OoO’s objective is simple; be the next big thing in rock music. All have the same goal: To give all they have for one last shot to make it to the big leagues and get on the bus to stardom!

Their heavy hard rock sound, catchy song writing and powerful lyrics are what set Out of Options apart from other rock bands. Out of Options recorded their first demo in October 2010 with producer Scott Walsh (www.soundcreation.ca). The band will play Le National in Montreal on March 4th, 2012 as the Featured Band at the Landmark Event Showcase. In the Spring of 2012 OoO will be working on their first LP. Expected launch date in the Fall of 2012.

Meet the band:

Patrick “Redge” Ritchie – Lead Vocals and guitar:

Music as always been a part of my life. Even though I don't have any technical background to my credit, I always surrounded myself with excellent musicians. I formed the band Calypso in 1994. In that band I was the rhythm guitarist and the main composer. In 2009 I formed the cover band Thank God for Mondays in which I was the drummer. Although I love to drum, in my heart of hearts I’ve always wanted to be the Front man and vocalist. Finally, my passion and my heart came together when I met Olivier, Ren and Kinger and we formed Out of Options!
I strongly believe that if you Dream it, you’re half way there; if you Believe it, you’re almost there; if you Act upon it, you WILL get there… and that’s exactly what you’ll witness when you get on board with OoO.

Experience:
- Over 20 years as a practicing musician. (Bass, drums, guitar, vocals)
- Finalist at the contest “Tout nouveau, Tout Show” with Calypso in 1995.
- Recorded a full length album with Calypso, released in 1996.

Olivier Bedard – Lead Guitar, Vocals:

I first studied classical for a few years, then moved up to jazz, and then to blues. That’s when I woke up musically. I had always tried to get better, faster, more technical. Once I started focusing on string bends and slower runs, I noticed how much more intimate the music became. Thus started the process of trying to break the rules I had learned and do what sounds good to me.

Experience:
- Over 21 years as a practicing guitarist.
- Studied Classical, Jazz, Blues, Rock, and Metal.
- Certified sound engineer via Musi-Technic Montreal, Computer Assisted Sound Production.
- Certified Web designer via Multi-Hexa Gatineau, Advanced Web design certification.

Patrick “Kinger” Kingsberry – Bass Guitar:

As soon as I heard the album “Killer” from Iron Maiden it ignite a passion within me and forever change my life. From that point on, I knew my true calling, playing bass like my idol Steve Harris. At around 12 years old I got my first bass and felt in love with that instrument. In my teenage years I played in different garage bands along with my brother and close friends.
I was hooked on Hard Rock/Heavy Metal style and music in general.
In 2009 I received a phone call from Redge asking me to be part of a cover band that would be called Thank God for Mondays. Together we did a few shows in the Gatineau area and surroundings.
In 2010, Redge called me up to start an original band which would become Out of Options. The story unfolds from there...

Experience:
- Over 20 years as a practicing bassist.
- Bassist for the band “Sobre Brume” in 1996

Ren Couvrette – Drums, Vocals:

Coming from a hardcore metal and hard rock background, I have been playing drums, guitar, and bass for the past 15 years. My influences come from many different bands such as Mudvayne, Slipknot, A7X, Breaking Benjamin, and Staind. I always try to create beats that make people feel and move to the music.

Experience:
- Over 15 years as a practicing percussionist.
- Accomplished writer on percussion instruments, guitar and bass.
- Played and studied rock, metal and classical music.
