"Uncut review"

"their most assured to date. At their best when fusing Spacemen 3 feedback and backwards guitar to West Coast smarts, there's enough to suggest there's life out there after all." - Uncut

"Outrageous Cherry"

"Outrageous Cherry mix old-school acid-eaters (Stones, Byrds, Beatles) with modern genre revivalists (Dandy Warhols, Brian Jonestown Massacre), wrapping their noise-pop in a distinctive psychedelic overcoat."

- Rolling Stone

"Pop Songs"

"Matthew Smith seems to be able to write these kind of pop gems in his sleep"

- All Music Guide

"OUTRAGEOUS CHERRY New EP"

· Carl Newman of the New Pornographers says that this is one of his favourite bands. Yeah, no kidding.

With Why Don't We Talk About Something Else, the popsters in Outrageous Cherry have swiped every trick they could from Carl Newman in the creation of piano-tinted guitar pop. Shrewdly using echo on the vocals, this EP is a collection of melancholy mid-tempo swoon-outs punctuated with handclaps buried under a warm blanket of mid-frequency tones. Like Newman’s New Pornographers, they channel David Bowie and The Beatles, the only difference is that Outrageous Cherry don’t have the advantage of being a supergroup. Still, with their mellow delivery and cruising vocals, they may not need it.

Bio

Matthew and Larry are the founding members, and have been playing together for well over a decade now. Matt's songwriting and Larry's one-of-a-kind soloing earned the bands reputation of being creative and unique early on. Pairing them with Carey's attack on her two drum, one tambourine set up, and Courtney's effortless "McCartney" style playing, OC's recordings and live performances are truly inspiring.
