That rumblin’ noise heard coming out of northwestern South Carolina isn’t a steamin’ locomotive or a twistin’ tornado. But it’s something just as fierce and just as formidable… It’s the five young men from Laurens, South Carolina, who together call themselves OUTSHYNE. What started out as high school buddies playing impromptu acoustic sets around a campfire back in 2007 has quickly turned into a band that has a devout following all around the Carolinas and throughout Georgia. OUTSHYNE has spent the last couple of years taking its “Country With An Edge” music out of the road, playing nightclubs, private events, and corporate functions. The band consists of Waylon Owings on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Josh Coleman on guitar and vocals, David McCall on guitar, Jayson Paxton on bass, and Matt “Smiley” Norris on drums. In addition to its own original music, OUTSHYNE also plays a wide-ranging set-list, including songs from acts such as Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Hank Williams Jr., Toby Keith, Johnny Cash, and countless others. If you can name it they play it. To help make your event successful, the members of OUTSHYNE are also willing to appear in radio, television, and newspaper advertising; and will be gladly available for fan meet-and-greets after each show. Also was voted as the Carolina Music Awards 2009 "Band of the Year". New album should be released at the beginning of 2010. The album is produced by Joe Laverlee (Tracey Lawrence & Yankee Gray).
