Outspoken Bean:
A graduate of Prairie View A&M University, Emanuel "Outspoken" Bean began performing spoken-word poetry in 2005. In 2006, Outspoken earned spots on San Antonios and Houston Poetrys Slam Team.
In 2008, Outspoken created and coached Prairie Views first slam team, winning the number one title in Region 12 and going on to be ranked number eight in the country. Outspoken performs regionally and hosts workshops in Houston; presently he is head coach for Houstons Youth Slam Meta-FOUR." Outspoken's workshops range from leading a writing workshop to conducting an abstract performance.
The most important part of the workshop is that the students are productive in their writing and that they have a chance to share their work publicly. Outspoken regularly conducts workshops of this nature at various Houston area public libraries, high schools, and universities.
