OVADA was formed when solo songwriter Joseph Hellmouth (Odd Urge, Rita-Henry) and his longtime collaborator Jim Rita (It's Bird's, Binge Mechanisms, Rita Henry) joined forces with Red Cliff (Feast of Stephen, John Radcliff), Cliff Boyd and Rusty Nichols.
OVADA is dedicated to artistic integrity and originality. The combination of songs with a message and music that refuses to be generalized.
"I’d like to tell you that Joseph Hellmouth sounds like Lennon, Folds, Bowie, Newman, Black Francis or Daniel Johnston, but I can't, because he doesn't sound like any one of them,
He sounds like the love child of all off them and it seems he was given up at birth and forced to find his own way.
His songs are filled with dark and twisted humor and beams of irony. Songs with strangely refreshing characters spewing out manifestos on everything from religion to lust. The good stuff. "
