Bio

After 2008, critics and music lovers have been left wondering whether whitewash Indie will ever loosen its death grip on the UK music scene.

Make way for Overreact. Their blend of influences ranges from Tokyo Police Club to The Psychedelic Furs and result in a sound which they call ‘angular Indie Punk’. This powerful fusion provides welcome relief from the swathe of generic, landfill Indie that’s been vomiting out of radios for the last couple of years.

Forget about Kermit-voiced whining junkies, Overreact are here and giving the scene an overhaul.

Singer/guitarist Marcus and bass player Luca met back in 2007 with drummer Mike completing the line up in 2008. Initially a turgid music scene in Guildford saw the band sharing bills with anything from metal acts to low-rent cover bands.

Thankfully salvation came quickly as after a number of trendy London-based indie labels picked up on the band’s innovative sound coupled with their musical talent they were snapped up.

Notorious for attention-grabbing, energetic and upbeat live performances Overreact already have the Camden crowd swooning and are set to conquer the indie/punk scene in early 2009.

Their debut release ‘Violent Eyes’ is creating a fuss on iTunes, and accompanying video should be bursting onto our TVs this year. The success has helped the band secure a 2009 tour, supporting bands including Fight Like Apes and Haunts. The single has also been played on Radio 1 as part of Huw Stephens' In New Music We Trust

Be warned – gigs are intense. Be prepared to shout, sweat, and throw some serious shapes.
