Over The Effect

Over The Effect is an alternative rock band from Atlanta GA. Their sound is a blend of 90s era alt rock meets progressive and psychedelic rock from the 70's. Some of our collective favorite bands/influences include: Sunny Day Real Estate, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Tool, Failure, King Crimson, Jane's Addiction, and HUM. 

The band brings together a unique blend of talents. Atlanta native Ashley Barker (vocals and guitars) has played in several bands and as an acoustic solo performer and is a song writing machine. Aaron Kamphuis (bassist and engineer) is a professionally trained audio engineer and producer and life long music junkie. Rob Nouryeh (drums and percussion) has played in several Atlanta bands in the past, and brings and excellent sense of timing and heavy hitting rhythm to the band. Their live shows blend their original music with the occasional re-interpretation of well known cover tunes. Their large catalog of nearly 40 original songs allows them to play long time slots, and allows them to vary their setlists from one show to another.
In the past two years, the band has played many shows at venues around the Atlanta area such as The Masquerade (where they once opened for Smile Empty Soul in August 2014), Smith's Olde Bar, Sweetwater Brewery, The Drunken Unicorn, and The Alamo Theater in Newnan among others.
