Over The Line

Over The Line is a musical duo that performs in the folk, singer/songwriter style and consists of Pamela Rini on vocals, acoustic bass, melodica, light percussion and Arthur Leinoff on guitar, mandolin, and ukelele. They play original material as well as unique covers from some of their favorite artists such as Eva Cassidy, The Waifs and Van Morrison.
After a 20 year hiatus of playing music as a bassist, Arthur restarted his career by devoting four years to playing the mandolin. One afternoon at a music store with a friend, he picked up a Martin OM21, fell in love instantly, thus beginning his love affair with guitar playing. His love of guitars inspired him to learn how to build them and he now plays his own handmade guitars fashioned after a Martin D18 and OO Parlor size guitar on stage. As a finger picker and a flat picker, he finds both suitable for each style but prefers the parlor size for fingerpicking.
Pamela has always had music in her life. Influenced by her aunt who was earning her doctorate degree in musicology when Pamela was small, many instruments were introduced to her and she started piano lessons at the age of 6, adding violin and clarinet through her teenage years. Vocal lessons started in college and she found her calling in voice. She sang as a soloist in church and choral groups but always longed for more. As her life got busier with work and then children, music seemed to go by the wayside until she and Arthur were introduced at a gathering for musicians. That introduction has lead to a collaboration as musical partners.
Originally from opposite ends of the state, Arthur and Pamela each call the lower Hudson Valley, NY, home.
