Biologically 7% owl, it just made the most sense for Jonathan Ostrander to add two letters to his curious surname and attempt to avoid any further explanation.
An avid mover, Owlstrander has watched the flock from destinations all over Canada, and maintains "dibs" on couches throughout the nation.
In a past life, he toured as the lead singer/songwriter in the the Dawson City folk trio "Three Chords and the Truth". However, one spring while tour through Manitoba, Jonathan struck a young Barn Owl with his car. The soul (or whatever) of that owl seeped into Jonathan's body. After that, it became more and more difficult to abide the traditional folk/roots music for which the band was famous. He knew he must set out on his own.
Now, armed with an acoustic guitar, the soul of a barn owl, an insatiable guilt, and a can-do attitude, Owlstrander is on the move. With a debut record due out in the fall, he will once again be roaming the nation. He is also tall, blonde, and handsome.
