Bio
Born in Gaziantep. First, middle and high school education was completed in Gaziantep. She began to play baglama at the age of 8. After high school she went to Turkish State Conservatory and graduated with the honors degree.
She started to give baglama lessons at the Haci Bektas-i Veli Cultural Association and Directorate of Culture in Gaziantep at the age of 17. After graduation, she worked as a music teacher in various elementary schools and high schools.
In the ‘Türkmen Kizi’ album she worked with master arrangers; Kemal Sahir Gürel, Erol Mutlu, Serdar Ateser, Ender Akay, Sunay Ozgur, Soner Akalin and Aytekin Aktas.
‘‘Türkmen Kizi’ album was included ,n the ‘Top 10 list’ im UK and an extensive interview was published in the famous world music magazine ‘FolkRoots’ . In addition, the song ‘Basina Döndügüm’ was reviewed im the world müsic selection of thge same publication. ’Türkmen Kizi’ was also chosen among the top 5 albums of BBC radio.
She was one of the vocals of ‘3 Woman’ Ensemble which gave concerts in Europe, Balkans and Blacksea region, within the “Golden Routes” project of PPR (Pi Production) in 2010.
