Born Rubin Walton in Cleveland, OH in 1989 and reared by his grandparents, P’s rites of passage into hip-hop first began after being introduced to hip-hop at an early age by his father who exposed him to Ohio hip-hop legends such as Dayton Family and Bone Thugs & Harmony. As P grew older hip-hop became a means for him to express himself and release his war wounds of the past. Although his childhood was filled with happy sentiments and a close bond with his grandparents, P also had to overcome the ills of an absentee mom; of which he now has recently formed a relationship with, an incarcerated father and a mishap that lead to him not graduating from high school. However like a true chief, P prevailed, mastered himself and overcame his obstacles; opting to go full throttle with his music career.

P began officially rapping in 2005 at the urging of a friend. Fast forward to 2007, and P joined forces with Tribal Council; a Cleveland hip-hop collective of 8 young lyrical chiefs that represent a new era in Cleveland hip-hop and beyond. The name Tribal Council stems from an appreciation of the unity of Indian culture, while dually playing homage to the Cleveland Indians brand. P has a strong allegiance to his hometown that shows up constantly in his lyrics. 

The first of the Tribal Council to chart mixtape territory, P_FrmDaTribe is set to release his 1st solo mixtape “Francona Era” this summer. P promises that “Francona Era” will serve as a fun, 90s inspired summer soundtrack to Cleveland from the POV of a young chief and introduce listeners to the unique sound and lingo of hip-hop confederation Tribal Council.
