Bio
After receiving formal classical piano training in Spain, his home country, Pablo Paniagua became interested in a diversity of new sounds. This encouraged him to move to London to pursue the study of the electric guitar at the London Guitar Institute. Back in Spain, he founded "Tribal Groove", a Jazz Fusion band that melts jazz harmony with rock technique and funk rhythm.
As a solo artist, Pablo is interested in electronic sounds. He recently recorded his second solo project in L.A.: "Shadow of the Past", an electronic bossa album. This new CD combines electronic drums with traditional Brazilian percussions, electric guitar with upright bass and has him performing in most of the instruments.
Through his music one can hear some of Paniagua's influences: Eric Trufazz, Jazzanova, Hermeto Pascoal, Miles Davis, St Germain and Tom Jobim.
According to the artist: "This new release is a very eclectic approach to Brazilian music, trying to spice up traditional styles like Baiao or Batucada with Lounge and Electronic Jazz".
Pablo won Musicians Institute's Best Project Award in 2002.
