Florida rapper Toon faced pain, loss, and hardships in his life. It’s obvious when you listen to his hardest-hitting rhymes that he uses his own personal experiences when writing his music. Going as far as naming his debut mixtape Toon World Toon Gang, just to give fans a brief insight to his life. His melodic single “Back on my bullshit” was the song that exploded on the scene and paved the way for new fans.
Toon was born Daniel Milfort in 1999. He was raised in the gritty West Orlando Florida neighborhood of Oak Ridge, growing up amid crime and violence. This hostile environment would influence his music with lyrics reflecting on the tough conditions of street life. Talking about his struggles with depression, poverty, paranoia, mental health and substance abuse he experienced. The truth of the music is what you feel when listening, because it’s reality.
Toon began rapping in 2018. People often ask him what made him start rapping. He has many influences, even some being other Florida artist who helped pave the way before him. With the buzz being generated around Toon, live shows or even viral clips where he freestyles with popular artist such as Jackboy, its clear he is a man on the rise.
