Biography

PACO ALDEBARAN

-Being a founding member and the main composer of Montreal sensation Skyjuice, lead singer Cisco Frank (a.k.a. Paco Aldebaran) never lost his groove. With this new solo venture Paco needed to explore the slow tempos of Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Samba and Latin rhythms. Coming from a mixed cultural background, Paco feels at home in a fusion of musical styles refusing to be trapped in a particular genre or form. Bare beats, various percussive instruments and dubby bass lines result in an undertow effect pulling in the listener. Enhanced by the gentle, rocking waves of the harmonic arrangements-- pick-pluck wah guitars; floating Fender-Rhodes piano; bubbling analog synths and tidal horn & flute sections-- the vibe is simply irresistible.

-Intuitive approach to composition

-Paco is also a busy Selector (Franky Selector) hosting his own night (Sunday Shining) at the Quartier Latin Pub in Montreal. You'll also catch him at several other clubs around town spinning his trademark rare groove gems. He collaborates with various producers and D.J.'s on House/Club tracks. He is also the keyboard player and co-founder of Future Shock, an instrumental live electronic music project. He produces and writes for various other artists and singers as well. Paco's signature vocal tone is much in demand for various features and collaborations--guest vocalist etc.

-Lyrical aspect -CONSCIOUS VIBIN'
-The Lyrical aspect of Paco's work is closely related to the Spoken Word tradition in terms of form and content--introspective poetry; social awareness; rhythmic phonetic combinations and a tongue in cheek kind of humor would be his trademark signature. Paco uses words the way a painter would use colors to harmonize the vibrational shades of the music they accompany; would you be surprised to know that he is a skilled visual artist as well?!

Following the legendary reputation of his other band Skyjuice, Paco Aldebaran's music reaches another level during a live performance. The team of extremely talented musicians surrounding Paco on stage gives the impression of a lively family reunion: song structures stretch; grooves are born on impulse; word is morphed into melody; inspiration is celebrated.

Silver&Gold

Silver & Gold

Words can sparkle like silver
And make a fool sound clever
But only what is kept untold
Will shine like gold

A simple touch might start a fire
And make a cold hand warmer
But only what is left undone
Can burn like the sun

A little water may add some luster
Teardrops make colors brighter
Only the rain can show the glow
Of the rainbow

Dance with me
Dance with me

Play on,
The feel-good music
Save your love for Love
And keep your Life for living
Everything can only get better
The Feel-good music

A silent mind is a wise mind
Mind you
A singing heart is wiser
My memory is roaming free
On things to come and yet to be
The music plays on
The feel-good music

Secrets

Written By: Francois C. Simard

Secrets

I got a little secret
If you promise not to tell
I’ll give you a hint
Don’t tell me it don’t ring a bell
If you promise not to tell
Stop dreaming ‘bout foreign lands
Forget about distant seas
Right here in my heart
Revolve a thousand galaxies
If you know what I mean We got the picture
Do you know what I mean We got the picture

Hey, hey, hey
Nobody knows
Hey, hey, hey
The secret I hold
Hey, hey, hey,
Nobody knows
You could be begging on your knees
Don’t you know
I won’t tell you my secret
‘Cause if I told you my secret
It wouldn’t be a secret no more

I won’t tell you
If I told you
It wouldn’t be a

I got a little secret
But I promised not to tell
It’s a little like a charm
Or if you will a wishing well
But I promised not to tell
Rub your rabbit foot Nothing is gained
And make sure you stay put
It could hit you in your sleep Nothing is lost
Or when you’re walking down the street
If you know what I mean We got the picture
Do you know what I mean We got the picture
If you know what I mean We got the picture
Do you know what I mean We got the picture

Hey, hey, hey
Nobody knows
Hey, hey, hey
The secret I hold
Hey, hey, hey,
Nobody knows
You could be begging on your knees
Don’t you know
I won’t tell you my secret
‘Cause if I told you my secret
It wouldn’t be a secret no more

Repeat chorus

I won’t tell you
If I told you
It wouldn’t be a

Take my advice
And put it in your back pocket
You never know when
You might need it

Repeat ad lib
