Biography

Coming from the purest East African traditions, son of Bakary Kone from Burkina, grandson of Wamian Kone from Mali, great grandson of a "Bobo Griot, player of balafon", Tiemoko "Paco" Kone was noticed by Thomas Sankara, at that time the President of Burkina Faso, who allowed him to travel throughout the world with a group of singers, drummers and guitar players.

He became Paco Kone and today offers an African Pop rooted in an electro reggae with an accent on rock. This is what world music should be - a music which is searching, traveling, universal yet still true to its roots.

The upcoming album "Ko Tesse" is the result of many years of work on stage and musical meetings, based on multiple stories from a traveling musician full of imagination, and master of an ancient culture.

This is also the start of a new musical format. Over the years, Paco has taken his audience to emotional heights, transcending the ages and landing on stage, fully charged with the energy from his African land, fuelled by the pulse of our planet.

"Ko Tesse" as a Tour, is a musical bravado. The modest revenge of the land of Africa, part of our world... an historical, musical and love journey...
This music is made to be on stage, a mix of sophistication and dazzling improvisation...
The young modern storyteller talks a language which we all share, an intimate resonance, which takes us into the subtle sounds of Sahel, full of wisdom and coming from afar
