Bio
Pairika is a cross between Western Rock and Persian musical elements. The band has successfully blended two very different styles of music and has created it's own style which is called Persian Rock.
The band is located in Iran which is one of the strictest countries of the world where no one expects to see a Hard Rock band specially with two female members.
The band has gone through so many extraordinary and unimaginable difficulties due to its musical style and female members.
Numerous canceled shows, baned album, persecution and many other prohibitions put forth by Iranian government is only a part what they have experienced during their history.
All their efforts to get the governmental permission necessary to release their debut album, Unheard Hymns, was turned down by Islamic government of Iran.
But despite all hardships and restrictions, they have managed to create a wave among Iranian youth, specially females.
Pairika was found in 2005 by four die hard and dedicated musician. Elika Khaje Amiri (Bass Guitar), Sara Haghverdi (Keyboard), Amir Hossein Mir Shafie (Electric Guitar/vocals), Milad Masoudi (Drums) and all founding members are present in the band.
Pairika's goal is to create a worthwhile music along with lyrics which represent band's critical point of view about social, cultural and global issues.
