"pop-folk en inglés que te eleva y extasía"
(EP3) ****

"El segundo disco de Pajaro Sunrise es un GRANDÍSIMO disco, una joya de
pop y superfolk que picotea de cancioneros clásicos, tradiciones pasadas
y pinceladas electrónicas para dar forma a un álbum que es una bendición."

"Done/Undone es un caleidoscopio de pop-folk encantador..."
(El Pais)

"'Done / Undone' is simply beautiful and Pajaro Sunrise cannot continue
to be kept this secret for much longer.

"delicioso disco doble..."
(ABC: Madrid360) ****

"this is a stunning set of beautiful electro-acoustic indie-folk numbers
featuring everything from horns to chime bars and plenty of guitar. It's
reminiscent of Findlay Brown at his best. You really need to check this
Piccadilly Records

"Done/ Undone son setenta minutos, ventidós milagros y el peligro de
quedarte atrapado en un planeta idílico con una banda sonora perfecta."
(ilike magazine)

"Méndez ... presenta un trabajo enorme tanto en el fondo como en la
forma, plagado de diminutas joyas que podrían encajar en una jukebox
repleta de temas de Nick Drake, Brian Wilson, Clem Snide, Bon Iver, o
Simon & Garfunkel."
(Mondo Sonoro ed. Castilla y León)

"Un caramelo para saborear."
(20 minutos) - various Spanish press

"Pajaro Sunrise: Done/Undone"

When it comes to effortless tunefulness it's often the chilly places
that rule; Norway have their Kings of Convenience, Scotland their Belle
& Sebastian. Sure, the Madrid winter's cashmere weather, but not so
nippy that Pajaro Sunrise's melodic mastery should be so unseasonably,
metaphor-ruiningly assured. This is a youthful yet masterful collection
of deceptively simple songwriting. So hot it's cold. - Monocle

Pajaro Sunrise (2006)
Done/Undone (2009)

Pajaro Sunrise started as a project of Yuri Méndez and Pepe Lopez. Their first and self-titled album, released by Lovemonk Records in November 2006, was recorded, mixed and produced by themselves at their own home. "Pajaro Sunrise" was received very well by the music press, it was released in Japan and South-Korea and distributed worldwide. The band got lots of interest from all over the place and toured around Europe, playing in countries like Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Belgium.

Back home they were voted Fnac Talents of the year and one of the three best domestic bands at the Premios de la Noche awards.

The follow-up, "Done/Undone", released in March 2009, was recorded in much the same way as its predecessor, only this time it was more of a band effort, with Pajaro Sunrise consisting of Yuri, Pepe and the newly incorporated Mario Delgado. However, the group disbanded somewhere along the way with Yuri remaining the sole member, and the result is a mixture of some of the band's songs and many of the tracks Yuri had been recording on his own.

Yuri decided to release the album as a double CD, even though the 22 songs could easily go on one disc. In his own words: "'Done' is for everything that was coming to an end, which were many things in my life; 'Undone' is for all the new possibilities that came out of that."
