Bio

Pajoche (pronounced like spanish “ch” but say whatever is natural to you) is the nickname founding member Pavel Ovesny from his high school, where in the same class were too many Pavel’s, so they had to distinguish.

The exact date of project foundry cannot be determined really because, first songs were written back in 1999. But we can say that project Pajoche was found on 04th May 2009 which is the date when the profile on portal Bandzone (it’s like local Myspace for the Czech Republic) was created. In the autumn of the same year Pavel aka Pajoche ends his membership in band (they had no name that time) in Dublin with a vision to start his own band where he can work on own songs.

To make that vision clear, in October 2011 he releases his first EP (or mini-album, if you like) Taste Test. The album contains 5 tracks and genre is described as Drum N Bass/ rock, instrumental. There are two instrumental songs, two in Czech and one in English. All instruments, programming, mix and artwork were made by Pajoche himself. The mastering job was done in renowned studios including for instance Streaky (Pendulum, Lily Allen) and Richard Dowling (Annie Lennox, Snow Patrol). Taste Test EP was released online and users on Bandzone portal could listen and download for free. From those ones who did listen to that, Pajoche received mostly positive reviews. The album has been spotted and approvingly mentioned on American music server Guitar Muse. There was also one the article in the online version of the Czech magazine Rock & Pop, Radio 1 deployed song “Kalamita” to their chart, on Radio Beat song “Nahradnik” got into semifinal in the competition Battle of young alternative Bands. Small enough success to start, but here Pajoche understood that without gigs his activity will not be noticed by crowds ever.

Back in 2012 Pajoche moved with his family to Brno, Czech Republic. In same year the project has been promoted the band to spice up the creation of other talented musicians and go to clubs and festivals. The first group consisted besides Pajoche , Marek Volf (Skyline Subway) on guitar, Jan Slabák (Kacebo) on drums and Filip Chuchma (ex-Decide) on bass. At the end of 2012 Marek and Jan are leaving band.

After few weeks, new members are found and band becomes international - guitarist Daniel Enchev is from Bulgaria (Absenth), Peter Siman is (ex-Zlesapocujem) from Slovakia. Filip and Pavel are from the Czech Republic.

Between May and June 2013 the band played the first series of successful gigs. In July 2013 Martin Pochyla on keyboards joined the band. Band suppose to work on their debut album during the autumn 2013, which could be released in early 2014. New material will follow the basic axis of rock but the band advised that new tunes definitely won’t be for the conservative listener. There will be influences of drum'n'bass, breakbeat, rap, funk and even reggae.
