"CMJ A&R Alert"

A gently resonating voice sits somewhere between Thom Yorke and Jeff Buckley; touches of sparse electronica, lush, soothing strings; lullaby-like melodies that crescendo and burst in fits of emotion–incorporating all this and more, ps is far from your average New York band.
"We hear our own sounds, really," says singer Patrick Savage, asked where the band finds inspiration. "The lyrics are personal, intimate. Th music is dynamic–at times very gentle; at others times quite aggressive; oftentimes within the same song. The emotional shifts are what interests us."
That being the case, the group must be extremely interested when observing people's reactions to its live shows and ecorded output. Because the music this band makes is moving.
"One thing that seperates us, I think, is that we're not purveyors of style over content. This isn't about how we look, or how we act, or who we know." - CMJ

Brooklyn's ps create guitar melodies with complex cello, it's their sarker, mellower side, as heard on "Spelling" that will truly get under your skin. - Entertainment Weekly

Bio

palaceaides is a new york based duo comprised of irish born Patrick Savage, and german born Ursula Damm, who both moved to New York independently in 2001.

They have been playing music together since late 2002 in previous bands: ps, postscript and now perform under the moniker palaceaides.

Palaceaides' music is hard to explain but when asked it might be described as a combination of folk, alternative and chamber pop, made with an acoustic driven sound of cello, acoustic guitar and vocals .

Their debut-album, entitled "Cutting Chords" will be released on i-tunes next months (December 2011) and plans to tour and promote the record are under way for early 2012.
