"Just About To Burn!"

"Just About to Burn are a New York City-based modern mountain music collective. Their music goes beyond just a genre experiment though. Mixing pop songwriting with a country-blues delivery, the band’s songs will work for any listener as they avoid any overt stylistic indulgence. Balancing this pop emphasis while keeping your tracks feeling pleasantly rusted and worn is a difficult task and the band pull it off effortlessly. Their sound is capped off by Paleface’s Tom Waits-inspired wilting croon that adds another layer of authenticity to the group’s sound. Timeless, simplistic and warm, Just About to Burn and definitely worth looking out for." - Exclaim! Canada's Music Authority

"Just About To Burn already on fire!"

"Armed with a harmonica and blue-grass inspired guitar styling, JATB is both classic and modern, then and now, 60s Bob Dylan and the Dylan of the 21st century. Their straight-forward beats invoke a simpler time of time-tested mountain music, while their smart catchy lyrics will appease even the most cynical of hipsters." - The Deli Magazine, NYC

Bio

Schooled personally by Daniel Johnston, PALEFACE was discovered in NYC, 1990 by Danny Fields (Stooges, Ramones, MC5). Soon became the first "Antifolk" artist signed to major label, followed by college radio hits and national tours. While roommates with Beck prior to this release, Paleface became a major influence on Beck‚s early work....After touring with The Breeders, PF collapsed and nearly died from alcohol. Following long recovery PF returned to NYC's Antifolk scene and befriended a new breed of artists (The Moldy Peaches, Regina Spektor, & Langhorne Slim, among others). Paleface became a major source of influence and inspiration to many of them. After finishing a record with his new band Just About To Burn which features long-term partner, drummer Monica "Mo" Samalot, PF met The Avett Brothers...who fell in love with it "My favorite all-time record by a friend" (Seth Avett, May 07). They developed a strong bond based on respect and admiration for their work. Paleface often shares the stage with the brothers and was featured on two of their records. The Avett Brothers are featured on Paleface‚s upcoming release, "A Different Story". Please stay tuned....
