Bio
Josh Palmer and Andrew Reeves had been playing music for quite a while when they got together in the summer of 2009. With a mutual love for Bob Dylan and craft beer, they started out just playing with friends in Andrew's living room, everybody grabbing an instrument and joining in. Eventually they decided to team up and begin playing together. The combination of Josh's songwriting ability and Andrew's masterful instrumentation produced a sound evocative of past folk and blues artists with a modern indie twist. Both austere and meticulous as well as light and simplistic, their music echoes a time when music did not just fall out of the sky, but was pulled from the dirt of the ground. It stems from real people, real places, and real experiences. Their songs have their own faces, names, jobs, and lives. Between the soft and sultry vocals, the smooth harmonies, and Andrew's incomparable skills on the harmonica, Palmer & Reeves brings a quality to music that has not been seen in a long time. On top of it all, they love to play. On stage they give the impression that they are immersed in their own musical world, beckoning for the listeners to come and join them. And at the end of the day, even when no one is listening, Palmer & Reeves will still be playing their music.
