Biography

Palmer M. Reed (born February 21, 1991) is a singer/songwriter who began performing at an early age at the community church. Raised in Orlando Florida, Palmer developed a keen taste and love for instruments such as piano, drums and his favorite and most used acoustic and electric guitars. Around the age of 14, Palmer had already decided that he wanted to spend the rest of his life creating and performing soulful music that will touch the hearts of many people.

“I want to make music not for the money, but for the people; I want my music to relate to people lives and to help them through bad times. Just to let them know we can make it through this together”.

Today, Palmer Reed is a self-produced songwriter, an acoustic one-man live act otherwise known as “Pop/R&B/Soul”. As a fan of all genres of music, Palmer Reed’s original lyrics are focused on love, passion, life and the pursuit of happiness in an innocent yet old soul type of way; “You make me feel like it’s okay to believe. So close your eyes and see what I see.”

Creatively supported from a long line of musical influences within his family from gospel to jazz, Palmer’s iconic influences include B.B. King, Kanye West, Seal, James Morrison, Pharrell Williams, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, and Ben Harper to name a few.

Prior to working on his new album, Palmer networked in Orlando’s acoustic scene honing his stage performance by producing ‘Coffee Shop Jam Sessions’. At age 16, Palmer was awarded winner of the annual Zora Neale Hurston Festival for his rendition of “Dreaming with a Broken Heart”. In High School, Palmer won “Most Likely to Be On TV” amongst the senior class at Boone High School and also headlined his Senior Prom and many other venues from his school, which can be experienced on YouTube. Palmer was also featured as a lead actor in the short film “Underage” also on Youtube.

Additionally, Palmer was awarded a Bright Futures scholarship to study Sound and Music Production at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida in 2009.

At the age of 21, singer/songwriter Palmer Reed is carefully mastering his live acoustic performances landing weekly local and tastemaker national gigs at Universal Orlando’s Hard Rock Live to Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta and the legendary Laugh Factory on Sunset in Los Angeles. Palmer Reed is destined to be successful in further expanding his musical and cultural boundaries through his talent and influence as a young man living in a modern world.
