The music tends to be dark with a unique raw feel and energy. While the vocals are soulful and empowering, themes speak of feelings of restlessness, unease and lost love. You can hear influences of folk, 60's 70's rock such as Neil Young, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. Vocally influences range from janis joplin to lauren hill.

Biography

Pamela Brottes discovered her passion for music when she first picked up the cello at 7 years old. Playing difficult pieces well beyond her age, she started to perform numerous live concerts and string orchestras for most of her childhood.

At the age of 14, she began to write and produce songs as well as compose music. For the next few years, she recorded extensively in a studio, and decided to pick up the acoustic guitar and piano to further push her musical boundaries. Influenced by rock and folk music from the 60s and 70s, combined with the discovery of jazz, folk and rock artists such as thelonious monk, Neil Young and Led Zeppelin opened her mind up to new musical creative ideas and possibilities.

In 2008, Pamela Brottes put together an 8 piece band consisting of a 3 piece horn section which brought her songs to life and on stage at venues such as Sala Rossa, Club Lambi and Jello Bar. Two years later, she picked up the electric guitar and met singer Samuel Kweku Kwofie. Their musical chemistry led them to collaborate on a pop rock blues project emphasizing dynamic harmonies and melodies.

Working on her solo project for the past two years now, Pamela Brottes, has completed the pieces previously worked on with Samuel Kweku Kwofie. The present music is darker with a unique raw feel and energy. While the vocals are soulful and empowering, themes speak of feelings of restlessness, unease and lost love.

Lyrics

Open bedroom

Written By: Pamela Brottes

Verse 1:
It’s not okay your eyes are cold cold cold
It’s not okay it’s getting old old old
How am I how am I supposed to know
What's going on what's going on
How we supposed to grow?

Chorus:
Looks like I'm done with this open bedroom
Looks like I'm done

Verse 2:
No more games no more games
Its not over till it's over
I'm in pain, I'm too sober I'm too sober
Thought it was fate when we met that day
What a mistake that we've made

Chorus:
Looks like I'm done with this open bedroom
Looks like I'm done x2

Bridge:
See I don't wanna hold onto
the memories that will deceive me
And I don't wanna hold on to
the empty promises that you feed me

Chorus:
Looks like I’m done with this open bedroom
Looks like I'm done

Outro:
I'm not offended cause your not discreet
I'm not offended by your self defeat X4

I'm just offended cause you don't want me x3
Looks like I'm done with this open bedroom
Looks like I'm done.

Sorry

Written By: Pamela Brottes

Verse 1:

Sorry, easier said than done.
Carry the weight , before it gets too much
Losing, faith before its just begun

Did I do, something to change your mind
Did I say, something that was out of line
Can I make, make it better in time

Chorus:

Wasn’t it simpler, before we fell in love
Wasn’t it simpler before X2

Verse 2: (same as verse 1, but melody slightly different in certain parts.)

Sorry, easier said than done.
Carry the weight , before it gets too much
Losing, faith before its just begun

Did I do, something to change your mind
Did I say, something that was out of line
Can I make, make it better in time

Bridge:

Hold on, to me baby
Hold on, cause I’m drifting away X2

Wasn’t it simpler, before we fell in love
Wasn’t it simpler before X2

Outro:

I thought I knew, I was faded, faded
I thought I knew , but do we know what we think we know X2

In the Middle

Written By: Pamela Brottes

Intro:

Yeah they told me but I wouldn’t listen
I was walking through my life daydreamin
Yeah I gave a lot but I thought a little
Now I’m stuck here somewhere
In the middle

Verse 1:

Warning signs
Press rewind
Isnt it obvious
It’s ok, I’ve been played
Wont you come clear with us

Getting over you
Should be easy
Now I’m getting a clue
Won’t you believe me.

Chorus:

Yeah they told me but I wouldn’t listen
I was walking through my life daydreamin
Yeah I gave a lot but I thought a little
Now I’m stuck here somewhere
In the middle

Verse 2

What a shame
Just a game
That you will lose in time

Let it go
And you know
What you can really find

Getting over you
Should be easy
Now I’m getting a clue
Won’t you believe me.
Chorus:

Yeah they told me but I wouldn’t listen
I was walking through my life daydreamin
Yeah I gave a lot but I thought a little
Now I’m stuck here somewhere
Stuck here somewhere
Stuck here somewhere
In the middle

Bridge:

Someday you’ll wake up
Someday you’ll wake up
And wonder where I am

Someday you’ll wake up
Someday you’ll wake up
And wonder where I went

Getting over you
Should be easy
Now I’m getting a clue
Won’t you believe me.

Chorus:

Yeah they told me but I wouldn’t listen
I was walking through my life daydreamin
Yeah I gave a lot but I thought a little
Now I’m stuck here somewhere
Stuck here somewhere
Stuck here somewhere
In the middle

Grey

Written By: Pamela Brottes

Verse 1:

Said I’m fighting self inflicted pain
Said you wouldn’t play this twisted game
You call me out, but you never call me

Right or wrong its never black and white
We work it out but somethings just not right
I’m crying out
But you don’t hear me

So I’m restless
In my own skin
Self destruction starts to set in
I think I’ve lose something good

And I’m fighting
Fighting for a feeling
Nothing left to believe in
I’ve given everything I could.

Chorus:

So help me find
The strength inside
To grow
I know
It gets better

And help me find
The strength inside
To go
I know
It gets better

Verse 2: (not really written yet need to fix words)

Said I’m fighting self inflicted pain
Said you wouldn’t play this twisted game
You call me out, but you never call me

Whose wrong whose right no in between
I’m losing sight of my well being
We drag it out
But you don’t feel me

So I’m restless
In my own skin
Self destruction starts to set in
I think I’ve lose something good

And I’m fighting
Fighting for a feeling
Nothing left to believe in
I’ve given everything I could.

Chorus:

So help me find
The strength inside
To grow
I know
It gets better

And help me find
The strength inside
To go
I know
It gets better

Bridge:

So Im walking away
Before you take the best of me
Before I lose my sanity
Yeah
Im walking away
Before you take the best of me
Before I lose my sanity
Before its too late
And I fade away.

Guitar solo

Chorus

Outro (not sure if we will do this part at all)
I don’t know how this would end anyway, all the pain
And I don’t think that I could see your face just the same
