SPEAKING OF GOOD DEALS by Nanshi Ignacio | SAN DIEGO, 2/8/08 -- Pamela Payge, an upcoming San Diego Filipina-American singer, will perform at Sycuan Casino on Saturday February 23, 2008 after working hard in finalizing her soon to be released latest record.

Pamela comes from a family of talented singers. She was inspired by her grandfather, Papais and her mother, Maria, a sister of famous singer Brenda Dycus who belonged to the group “The Shapers”. Pamela has showcased her beautiful voice and comedic talent since she was a child, performing in front of her family and friends. Pamela’s leadership skill was already evident even when she was still young. At age 5, she led her school’s marching band composed mostly of her classmates who were older and taller than her. She even choreographed the formation of the band and its twirlers routine to the song that they marched to. As a teenager, her voice was heard at her family’s church, the God is Able (GIA) Ministries International. Pamela not only sings and makes people laugh, but she is also a model, actor, and a dancer. She has modeled for Sycuan Casino ads, as well as various automotive, glamour and beauty magazines. Her acting credits include “Flies on a Crimson Flag,” an Indie Film by Tarik Polansky. She also appeared in commercials like the one promoting Axe Body Spray.

Bio

Recording artist/songwriter Pamela Payge has an extraordinary ability to transform words into heartfelt melodies and a stage performance that will move you. Pamela grew up with a knack for writing lyrics and singing at a very young age. It is inherently natural that she followed in the footsteps of her extended family, grandfather Papias, as well as her mother and titas (tagalog for aunts) who toured the world with their band, The Shapers.

Among other backgrounds, Pamela's Filipino background leads to her exotic mysticism. Her presence is hard to ignore. Whether she is amidst her family and friends being the comedian that she is, but, does not want you to know of, or with her fans performing, it is hard to not enjoy yourself and have some fun. Pamela recently released her first album 'Love and Hate' now available through CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon. Her songs "This Time" and "Notice Me" were featured on www.overplay.com where she was voted Grand Prize Winner. Pamela resides in sunny San Diego, California and is currently juggling many acts from promoting her album, modeling, acting, dancing, and singing. She is an active member in many charitable organizations.
