Falling Down

Written By: Pam Shaffer

You were so special.
You were so novel.
You meant the world to me.
You were the one who
Drew me into you,
Why could I not stay?

When it all came falling down,
When it all came falling down.

You were the best thing
That I had ever seen.
You were the one for me.
You made me feel real.
You made me adore you.
Why couldn't you love me?

When it all came falling down,
when it all came falling down.

This wasn't meant to be
so why do you keep kissing me?
If this wasn't meant to be
then why do you keep kissing me?

So it's over now,
the ashes have scattered.
I've cut my hair like I always do.
All the words are wornd out.
Nothing left to see here.
Yet you're sleeping,
resting next to me.

Wouldn't it be nice if
the ending was sharp?
Slicing out this bit of my heart.

It would be sweet if
our story was easy.
If nothing was sacred,
if nothing was scary.
It nothing could ever touch
the parts you keep hidden,
the parts that I've seen
when we should be sleeping.

Wouldn't if be nice if
the ending was sharp?
Slicing out this bit of my heart.

Sometimes, My Heart Stops

Written By: Pam Shaffer

Right as I am falling asleep
I realize I won't miss a thing.
How content I would be lying here,
nothing to lose and nothing to fear.
No risk to take and no one to blame.
No one to even call me by name.

Sometimes, my heart stops,
blood ceases to flow.
That's when apathy courses through me.

Now you might find it a bit strange
to feel yourself drifting away.
But I love to go under
to trade this pain in for wonder
Don't read me wrong,
I like what I've got.
But in my head, I'm all that I'm not.
