Pandemic is the fusion between members of Interstate Pond and Groundfault, 2 local favorites from the New Orleans area. On the weekend that Hurricane Katrina struck, these were 2 out of the 4 bands scheduled to play in the Jagermeister Band Search Finals. The historic storm would change the fate of these bands, both eventually splitting up and bringing members of each together to form what is now Pandemic. In early 2006 Mark, George, and Erik of Interstate Pond joined Ed and Zay of Groundfault. There was an immediate chemistry between these old friends. Armed with the same influences, they immediately began working on new material. The meaning behind the name, Pandemic, is simple. All 5 of these musicians are on the same mission: to spread this music as far as possible, to anyone and everyone.
