There were few political statements made at Friday's tribute to the Clash at the Turf Club. In fact, the raciest comment was from members of Dillinger Four, saying that bassist Paddy Costello had been sidelined by ``all the beer and blow'' at the SXSW festival last week. (The group's cancellation at the tribute is still a mystery.)
But there was plenty of added edge in songs such as the Soviettes' ``Clampdown,'' Panel of Experts' ``Radio Clash''.... The show yielded about $2,000, which benefits Joe Strummer's pet cause, Future Forests. - Minneapolis Star and Tribune
