PANIK
10 years ago Rick Legacy and Ang Cimino, two virtual strangers with a respect for each others talents, had a vision of rock stardom. It has proven to be an amazing road thus far with bright highs and morale-breaking lows. The band went through many transformations throughout the years including name changes and member changes. The result...PANIK, a rock powerhouse with kick-ass riffs, ear catching melodies...great songs. Rick and Ang being the main writers, have always held strong to their rock roots. “It’s about the song-NO FADS, NO TRENDS.”
The current (and final) line-up includes: Rick Legacy (vocals/guitar), Ang Cimino (guitars/vocals), Brian Hamilton (drums), Mark Piraino (bass). “We finally found the right combination with Brian and Mark...solid, solid rhythm section. The backbone, and a definite key element to PANIK’s big rock sound.”
If comparisons had to made then the following might be said: Panik is a blend of what has been great and what is great in music. Influenced by legends such as Zeppelin, AC/DC, Floyd, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Judas Priest, Beatles etc...
PANIK’s past achievements include: supporting various major label acts such as I Mother Earth, Our Lady Peace, See Spot Run, Treble Charger, Jet Set Satellite, Harem Scarem etc..., playing main stage Friendship Festival, main stage Grape and Wine Festival, Canadian Music Week, busking at Lollapallooza and so on. The band also has extensive touring experience playing all over Canada and the U.S.

a) Cranial Contusion (under the band name Crackerhead)
b) Great Beyond (under the band name Great Beyond)
2. While under the band name “Crackerhead” the band was chosen as one of the finalists in 102.1 the edge’s new music search. Two songs off of the “Cranial Contusion” cd were put into rotation on 102.1: “Mistake” and “Nothing”. The cd graced the number 2 position at HMV Toronto for INDIE sales.
3. While under the band name “Great Beyond” the band received national airplay with the
songs: “Closet” and “Edge”. During this period the band extensively toured Canada and
The U.S.A.
4. In January of 2004 Panik inked a licensing deal with Escape/Sony out of Europe. The band has been getting regular to heavy rotation on radio stations throughout Europe and Japan and have also been featured in various European rock magazines.
5. Recently placed 3rd in the 97.7 hitz fm Rocksearch 2004.
