Bio
Born in Athens,Greece on March 27,1981.At 13 began studying classical guitar.After playing in several school bands from 1995 to 1997, Panos formed his first rock band, “Sign”, in 1997 which lasted three years. “Sign” issued a cd with 7 original songs in 1999, while participating in many local gigs, festivals and creating a group of loyal fans. In January 1999 “Sign” gave their first live appearance on the national TV station ET-3.
In 2002 Panos joined “Troublemakers”, a well known rock band in Greece, playing all over the country at big festivals, famous clubs and live stages.
From 2005 to 2010 “Troublemakers” combined with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Ioannina and Philharmonic Orchestra of Thessaloniki, performing a number of Rock concerts in the big cities. Also, the band opened and played in many festivals in Greece, supporting groups and artists including Glenn Hughes (ex member of Deep Purple, 2005), Whitesnake (2006), Dokken (2007), Kingdom Come (2007), Winger (2009), Over the Rainbow (2009, 2010) and Scorpions (2010). During this period he formed an original funk-rock band “Sugarcane”.
Highlights of his career are the co-operations with Kip Winger (Winger) in 2007 and Don Dokken in 2007.
For the past 8 years he has gained experience teaching guitar to young musicians privately, and in 2009-2010 he gave lessons to over 40 students with wide ranging abilities at The Municipality Music School of Ioannina,Greece.
In 2010 Panos Tzimas made his first solo album, “The Spirit of Time”, consisting of seven original instrumental tracks all of which he composed, arranged, and mixed.
