Papa John

Johnnie C. Jenkins Jr. was born in the rubber capitol of the World, Akron Ohio. He has always had a desire to be creative. As a youngster he started dancing and performing in local talent shows. He also displayed an early interest in art, poetry and drama.

The artist, producer, songwriter, poet, dancer, rapper has been working vigorously for the past several years on his music and art. He has put forth a concentrated effort to create a body of work that encompasses all elements of his creative abilities. His work will be the subject of a future documentary entitled, "Pieces in Progress". The documentary will give viewers an inside look at some of the art he is currently working on as well as some other completed works... Some of the unfinished works have been published in a beautiful brochure entitled Pieces in Progress...

Jenkins, a. k. a. Papa John has created a gallery of art with over one hundred pieces. The gallery is located in the City of Champions, Inglewood California. The work is diverse in terms of style and subject. He believes his work is spiritually inspired.
He also created a clothing line called Stop Sign Wear, as a canvass to create more... The gear incorporates the underlying theme or message of peace.

Papa John is also a great filmmaker and producer. His Blow N Wisdom “Looks Like Television Feels Like Radio” is broadcast worldwide...

Papa John also has two workshops which offer leadership training and creative outlets for youth within the communities of Los Angeles and Inglewood. HipHop Heavies, a literacy program utilizes music to teach and promote reading... What’s Your 411 Youth Forum is a workshop teaching youth leadership skills which will benefit them now and in the future... He has conducted his workshops at middle schools in the Los Angeles School District and other sites throughout Southern California...
He is currently working with the youth of The Living Sacrifice Community Church under the Leadership of Bishop Stephanie Law Tyson. in Los Angeles, California...

This multi-talented artist has eight CD's to his credit and has written many songs. He is an extraordinary songwriter. He wrote the hit song "In My Bed" The original title “Somebody's Sleeping In My Bed" After coming out to LA in 1984 he connected with some individuals who turned out to be thieves who stole many of his songs, which were placed with prominent artist in the industry, ... He is a Grammy Award Winning Writer, who has never been given a real shot!

He is currently working on a book entitled "Stolen Treasures" which will chronicle his journey from childhood to present...

Papa John says that his music will always be centered on real life lessons. The aim is to communicate something that's going to stir the minds, hearts and souls of those who have ears to hear and eyes to see...
