Biography

PAPA PILKO & THE BINRATS came together in the later part of November 2011, merging all their influences to form the vast sound that exists today. Blending Juke Joint Blues with the sounds of New Orleans and drawing from such stage performers as Cab Calloway, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Jim Morrison & Bon Scott to name a few, suggests a live show that will have any audience wanting more.

The band have been gradually making their way into the Australian music scene playing extensively in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Being based in Sydney, have made appearances at some of the cities most prestigious venues and have plans to play up and down the East Coast throughout 2013.

The end of May 2012 saw the release of the bands Debut EP ‘Papa Pilko & The Binrats’, a 4 track snapshot of where the band are, where they’re going and what they are capable of. It is available at shows and online.

The band will bring in 2013 with their blend of wild Blues & slick, swingin' country rock n' roll to launch their newest EP 'Howlin', a 5 track brawl of songs developed on stages across the East Coast of the country. This new sound is loud and in your face and truly announces you to the bands live show.
